APRIL 2019 - GCISF APPOINTS BILL RUSK AS NATIONAL DIRECTOR FOR CANADA

NIAGARA FALLS, ONTARIO - The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Rusk to the position of National Director for Canada. Bill is a former Toronto Police Service Officer, and serves as a Police Chaplain/Instructor with the Canadian Practical Chaplain Association, CISD Instructor and currently serves as the Executive Director for Badge Of Life Canada www.badgeoflifecanada.org Together with Badge Of Life Canada the G.C.I.S.F. continues our mission of helping those in pubic service field through the teaching and certification of CISD in Canada throughout agencies in Canada.

JANURARY 2019 -GCISF APPOINTS ROGER ROTH AS REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR STATE OF WASHINGTON

TACOMA,WASHINGTON - The G.C.I.S.F. is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Roth to the position of Regional Director for the state of Washington. Bill is a C ISD Instructor and currently serve as the full time Police Chaplain for the Pierce County Sheriff Department in Tacoma Washington.

october 2018-G.c.i.s.f. ALIGNS AND PARTNERS WITH THE GLOBAL CRITICAL INCIDENT STRESS FOUNDATION

The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased announce a merge with the O.C.I.S.F. Ontario Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Over the next 12 months both organizations will continue to operate independently with a goal of operating under the G.C.I.S.F. banner with licensed and approved sub-agencies operating under this umbrella. A new Board Of Directors has been formed representing both Board Members from the O.C.I.S.F. and G.C.I.S.F. This merge was a result of the fact the O.C.I.S.F. was already operating in 02 countries and seeks to exapnd our training and membership on an international basis. Subsequent to the merge we have planned to launch branches in 2019 in Austraila, France, Italy, Thailand, Mexico, Kyrgyzstan and the Philippines.

SEPTEMBER 2018 - GCISF OFFERS CERTIFIED DE-BRIEFERS BADGES FOR PURCHASE

The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation now has Identification Cards and Badges available to individuals who successfully been certifed as Critical Incident Stress De-Briefers. A series of 4 full size wallet badges and one smaller pin are available for purchase. All full size badges come with custom leather wallet and GCISF Identification card.

 

SEPTEMBER 2018 - gCISF TO OPEN NEW OFFICE IN WASHINGTON STATE

The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to announce it's plans of opening a new office in the State of Washington. Ou new office will be located in Tacoma Washington and will seek to serve neighbouring US States including Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota as well as the neighbouring Canadian Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as the State of Alaska. We anticipate being operational in the late fall of 2018 and are excited about expanding our PTSD prevention training and awareness education to this geographical area. Alhough based out of Anaheim, California the GCISF has field offices in Niagara Falls, California, Jacksonville North Carolina and Fort Erie Ontario.

 

DECEMBER 01 2017 - GCISF OPENS NEW OFFICE AT CANADA/USA BORDER TO SERVICE NEW YORK AND ONTARIO

This week the GCISF opened its 3rd office, this one in Fort Erie Canada approximately 3 minutes from the Canada/United States border crossing. This office is designed to service Police and Fire Departments from both Canada and the United States. The are over 75 Police & Fire Departments within a 30 minute drive of this office in addition to Homeland Security, and Border and Custom Officers protecting the border all of who deal with trauma and Critical Incident Stress on a regular basis.

SEPTEMBER 2018 - GCISF announces Instructor Courses For 2018/2019

TACOMA, WASHINGTON-The GCISF is now offering "live feed" ONLINE CISD Certification Courses on the internet. Students using the technology of interactive telecommunications will have the opprotunity to sit in on live classroom instruction courses and have the ability to interactive with video and voice communication with Instructors and other students in the class. The GCISF will be offering online classes each month with an international student base.

 

TORONTO, ONTARIO-The GCISF will be conducting a series of Instructor Certification courses over the next 6 month that will certify an individual to teach and certify people in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. These courses will be held in Toronto Canada, Anaheim California, Tacoma Washington and Vancouver British Columbia. SEPTEMBER 2018 - GCISF Teams up with Badge Of Life Canada in Pilot CISD Certification Program

LIONS HEAD, ONTARIO-On September 6th 2018, the GCISF in partnership with Badge Of Life Canada, engaged in a CISD Certification Course with members of BOLC. Badge Of Life Canada is an organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the assistance and support to former and currently serving Police and Correctional men and women.

 

FEBRUARY 28 2018 - GCISF Releases New Bank Robbery Support Program On 21st Anniversary of North Hollywood Shootout

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA-On February 28th 1997 the LAPD experienced one of the worst incidents of gunfire exchange as they responded to heavily armed bank robbery suspects covered in body armour and bearing heavy firepower as they attempted to escape the robbery of the Bank of America in North Hollywood. The Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to release the new PRSP - Post Robbery Support Program that is designed to provide support to employees of banks and retail stores who have been victims of a robbery in the workplace.

 

FEBRUARY 26 2018 - GCISF Offering 2 New Certification Courses For 2018

TORONTO, ONTARIO-Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to announce the release of 02 new training courses that will be offered for 2018. The EPSP-Establishing A Peer Support Program and the PRSP-Post Robbery Support Program. The EPSP course is designed for agencies, organizations and businesses that want to set up their own internal Peer Support Program. It provides the information necessary to set up and administer the program as well as training for both the administrators of the program and the peer support personnel. The PRSP course is designed to support victims who have been exposed to robbery within their employment such as banks, credit unions and retail stores. It is designed to incorporate specific support and CISD strategies for these employees to mitigate the traumatic stress, lessen sick time and absentism and get the employees functioning back in their employment within reasonable timeframe.

JANUARY 19 2018 - GCISF Certifies First Round Of California CISD Instructors

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA-Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation had its first group of graduates of the CISD INSTRUCTOR COURSE that was held in Anaheim California. There were 7 men and women represented in this class representing such organizations as Anaheim Fire Department, City of Anaheim, Love Anaheim Foundation and local Chaplains from California Practical Chaplain Association. With these additional instructors the GCISF hope to be able to increase the amount of basic CISD Certification Courses being held in 2018 in California.

NOVEMBER 05 2017-GCISF Certified First Members of Anaheim Police Department as Critical Incident Stress Debriefers

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA-Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation had its first Anaheim Police Department graduates of the CISD Certification Course today. A program in conjunction with the Love Anaheim non profit organziation has provided scholarships to members of the Anaheim Police Department to provide Dispatch, Front Line Officers and Senior Command Staff with CISD certification to be used in the field.

NOVEMBER 16 2017 - GCISF Provides CISD To Toronto Housing Authority

TORONTO,CANADA-Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to announce the success certification of over 30 Dispatch, Community Service and Special Constables employed by Toronto Housing Authority known as Toronto Community Housing Corporation.

DECEMBER 24 2017 - GCISF Announces CISD INSTRUCTOR COURSES FOR 2018

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA-Global Critical Incident Stress Foundation is pleased to announce 2 CISD Instructor Courses that will take place in 2018. The courses shall be facilitated in Anaheim California and run on January 20, February 19, and March 05. GCISF is always looking for instructors to help in training. Upi must already be certified by GCISF in basic CISD.
